Halo 3: ODST Recreated with Unreal Engine 5 – Halo 3: ODST

Halo 3: ODST was released in 2009 as Bungie’s penultimate Halo game before going independent and leaving Microsoft. It’s not generally considered one of the best games in the series, but it does have a loyal community that enjoys a very different Halo experience playing with regular ODST soldiers rather than powerful Spartans.

It also offers a different set of environments as we explore New Mombasa and its surroundings. Now, Gearshift Media has recreated a sizable portion of these environments with the powerful Unreal Engine 5 in a demo called Dropzone, which is described as follows:

“Dropzone is a 15-30 minute narrative and exploration experience that lets you explore a new piece of Mombasa you’ve never seen before! As an ODST, you can explore and find the narrative behind the environment, or just walk around and enjoy the atmosphere. This The choice is yours! Put on your headset, sit back and enjoy an immersive experience by reimagining one of the best settings in video game history!

Download Dropzone for PC yourself this way, or check out the launch trailer below. What aspects of Halo 3: ODST do you like and would you play a proper remake like this?
