Novara is good for Tim Merlier. The Belgian athlete from Soudal Quick-Step triumphs in the third stage of the Giro d’Italia started this morning from Novara and arrived in Fossano in the late afternoon. A nice finish after 165 km rewarded Merlier, the same one who, although wearing a different jersey, had triumphed in Novara in 2021, a stage in which Filippo Ganna from Verbano had kept the pink jersey.
Melier is the new cyclamen shirt, the squad remains with Tadej Pogacar.
Tomorrow, Tuesday 7 May, the tour starts from Acqui Terme and ends in Andora after 190km.
