The new edition of Health Expo: Fur y Integral wellness held this Saturday at the Erasto Fernández Perales Coliseum, in Maunabo, brought together leading specialists in different areas of medicine to offer free clinic operations in more than 9 specialties, vaccinations, conferences, and 4 programs.

Organized by the Atopic Dermatitis Patient Support Alliance in conjunction with the Medicine and Medicine Magazine Public health, the event attracted hundreds of patients and caregivers. The expo featured conferences on various health topics, a vaccination day to prevent the development of 9 diseases, and free vaccination programs and clinics for glucose, cholesterol, and HIV.

Dr. Abdiel Alicea provided important recommendations for atopic dermatitis patients on protecting themselves from heat exposure, emphasizing the importance of avoiding direct sunlight during peak hours and incorporating sunscreen into their daily skincare routine.

Dr. Vernice Hernández discussed the impact of anxiety and stress on patients with atopic dermatitis and how these psychological factors can worsen symptoms and trigger conditions like depression.

Nutritionist Lcda. Dohanies Beniquez highlighted the benefits of probiotics and prebiotics for maintaining a healthy microbiota in the skin, emphasizing their role in protecting the skin and promoting overall health.
