incidence decreasing, but remains sustained

According to ISS data, the number of cases of influenza-like syndromes (ILI) in Italy continues to fall, even if circulation remains high.

The RespiVirNet surveillance bulletins published today highlight that in the second week of 2024, the incidence is at 14.1 cases per thousand assisted, while in the previous week the peak was reached with 17.1 (updated data compared to that released last week following notification delays). The proportion of flu-positive samples out of the total samples analyzed also fell (29.6% vs 37.4%).
