Approved this morning in the Region, the Resolution identifying the new implementing bodies and the implementation phases for the construction of the “Single Health Center” in the city of Lagonegro. The overall total of the investment is approximately 89 million euros.
In particular, the San Carlo Hospital of Potenza (AOR) and the Local Health Authority of Potenza (ASP) were identified as the new implementing bodies of the project, taking over from the Basilicata Region Authority and declared responsible for the interventions assigned and the relative costs / amounts of each phase of implementation.
The procedures and actions to be undertaken for the successful use of resources and for the realization of the entire work, will be carried out through three interventions, designed and to be programmed in order to guarantee, during the execution of the works, continuity of assistance. of all hospital activities, without any interruption and in total safety.
The first intervention, which sees the implementing body in the ASP of Potenza, involves the construction of a new thermal plant, which will be at the complete service of the Pole, the demolition of the old thermal plant and two secondary buildings of the current hospital; to these are added the construction and completion of the first pavilion of the new hospital (pavilion A).
Instead, the AOR San Carlo di Potenza will be the implementing body of the other two interventions which respectively envisage a progressive and planned demolition of the current hospital, the construction of pavilions B and C, with the consequent purchase of technological equipment and furnishings necessary and the construction of a multi-storey car park to serve the entire Health Center; furthermore, the arrangement and construction of special outdoor areas is envisaged.
“The construction of the Single Health Center in Lagonegro represents an important piece of health planning and will play a strategic role in increasing active regional mobility,” – commented the Councilor for Health and Personal Policies, Francesco Fanelli- “i planned requalification works are in fact in line with the prospects for growth and strengthening of the intermediate structures of the territory; an investment that underlines how much it is on the agenda for this administration to guarantee quality public health that is adequate to the needs of citizens. This is an important intervention that will bring a significant advantage in terms of care and efficiency, as well as in employment and academic terms ”- concluded the commissioner.

Our strategy is to bring more and more modern services and structures closer to citizens, because Covid has taught us that local healthcare is essential to limit the use of hospitalization as much as possible. After the Lagonegro Health Center, our council is now focused on breaking down waiting lists, which is one of the emergencies we inherited from the pandemic ”.
