This is because the body cannot fully use them for energy due to the resistant starch.

However, it is not possible to say exactly how big the calorie difference is compared to foods that have been heated once. The expert explains: ā€œThere is currently a lot of research being done on the effects of resistant starch, but there is no exact data on calorie savings yet. According to initial studies, you save between ten and twenty percent of calories.ā€

New study: Resistant starch helps you lose weight

Chinese and German scientists now wanted to investigate this topic in more detail. In a study, they analyzed how resistant starch (RS) as a dietary supplement affects obesity and metabolism. They published their results in the journal ā€œNature Metabolismā€.

They came to the following conclusion: If the 37 overweight participants consumed 40 grams of resistant starch daily over a period of eight weeks, then:

Is resistant starch considered a new weight loss aid?
