After the closure of the Tolentino medical service at the end of 2021, Gallenzi turned to Caldarola for medical assistance on the public holiday of Epiphany. However, she was shocked to find that the medical service was not operational due to a shortage of staff.
“I called several times, but no one answered,” recounted Gallenzi. Despite her efforts to obtain medical help, she was left with no options and had to resort to calling her GP, who was not available on holidays. This resulted in a delay in obtaining necessary medical treatment for her family member.

Gallenzi expressed her outrage at the situation, stating, “If Ast has a shortage of healthcare workers, what should a citizen who needs assistance do? If the figure of the doctor exists, continuity of care must be guaranteed.”
