On February 18, at 4.30 pm, the forum “The Importance of microbiome for improved human health and agro-food production” will be held, for sustainable economic growth of the Italian agri-food sector, based on research and innovation.

The event will be one of the main events of the week dedicated to food at Expo 2020 Dubai, thanks to the collaboration between the Alisei National Cluster, chaired by Diana Bracco, and the Cluster Clan, led by Mauro Fontana.

During the exhibition, the action plan for industrial implementation on the microbiome for the improvement of human health and agri-food production will be presented, prepared by a group of experts identified by the National Committee for Biosafety, Biotechnology and Sciences della Vita (Cnbbsv) of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, in close collaboration with the Alisei and Clan Clusters and 16 of the most important Italian industries in the healthcare and agri-food sector.

The common objective will be to address and analyze, thanks to the presence of public and private international stakeholders and organizations active in the field of the microbiome, a complete vision of the main frontiers of progress in human and agri-food research.

“The workshop will help explore the potential of the microbiome for the development of the Italian food system, ambassador of Made in Italy in the world, promoting a healthier, safer, more productive and sustainable agro-food chain”, says Patrizia Brigidi, Professor of “Biotechnology of Fermentation “at the University of Bologna.
