Windows Media Player is getting better and better.

A few days ago, Microsoft launched a new version of Windows Media Player 11.2205 for Windows 11 in the Dev Channel.

This update promises faster performance for users with large media collections. Likewise, songs and albums in your collection can now be sorted by date they were added.

The updated Albums page in Windows Media Player lets you sort songs based on the date they were added. Earlier this year, Microsoft added another nifty feature to the media player – support for CD playback.

In addition, Microsoft has made changes to Media Player’s theme and improved the app’s overall ability to drag and drop content. The updates are available to everyone in the Windows Insider Program and will begin rolling out to the public.

Windows Media Player is a free player produced by Microsoft. It is a component of Microsoft Windows, usually referred to as “WMP”, which supports burning, ripping, synchronization, streaming, watching, and listening. And support through plug-in enhancements.
