The test sample sent by Seagate is a 2TB capacity version, and the model is STKG2000402. The measured maximum access speed is about 996.11MB/s for reading and 986.51MB/s for writing. A real file transfer experiment with FastCopy will find that the writing speed of One Touch SSD is not very fast, so we will also investigate the SLC Cache setting strategy. I went back to verify the results of this short test. In addition, a single file with a smaller capacity was added as a comparison group. It was measured that reading 1,046MB/s and writing 834.4MB/s are relatively satisfactory. In other words, One Touch SSD is not suitable for continuous writing of large amounts of data, and the previous PCMark 10 test results also mean that it is not suitable for heavier/complex applications such as simultaneous reading and writing.
One Touch SSD is not a FireCuda series brand after all. It is clearly not a high-performance oriented product. The main appeal is that it is easy to use, suitable for most people, and cross-platform support, so this performance can be considered within a reasonable range. We are happy to see that Seagate can add security features in the future (One Touch HDD will provide it instead…), even if it is just a password lock to restrict access rights, so that users can more confidently store private data and take them out at any time.
