The Undersecretary of State, Hon. Prisco, inaugurated the gym of the Fire Brigade Command in the Poggioreale district on Saturday, February 3rd. The renovation of the gym, which also hosts the “Domenico Padula” sports group for competitive wrestling and volleyball activities, was celebrated during the event. The inauguration was attended by the Head of the Fire Brigade, Public Rescue and Civil Defense Department, Prefect Franceschelli, the Regional Director, Eng. Emanuele Franculli, the Provincial Commander, Eng. Michele Mazzaro, and the Command Managers of the Campania region. Also in attendance were the officials, operational, technical-professional staff, and representatives of the ANVVF.
During the visit, the Undersecretary met with the staff and representatives of the Fire Brigade trade unions, and also had the opportunity to see the new vehicles and equipment that were presented to the Command’s fleet.
The Undersecretary emphasized the importance of the redeveloped space, stating, “Today we are inaugurating a redeveloped space which will be very useful for the education and training of the staff of the National Fire Brigade, a space which can also be used by associations and therefore by the citizens of the neighborhood.” He further highlighted the government’s commitment to strengthening the staff of the National Fire Brigade and investing significantly in the renewal of the fleet of vehicles supplied to the Commands.
Following the inauguration, the Undersecretary visited the headquarters of the Regional Directorate, where he explored the historical gallery of the firefighters of Campania. He praised the impressive collection of documentation and objects which testify to the important and incessant activity that the firefighters from Campania have been carrying out for many years.
“This place preserves the cultural and identity heritage of a Corps that has served our nation for decades with a great spirit of sacrifice and generosity. We must all be proud of it,” the Undersecretary stated.
The event was a symbol of the government’s support for the National Fire Brigade and its commitment to providing resources and facilities for the training and well-being of rescue workers. The visit and inauguration were important steps in recognizing the dedication and hard work of the firefighters in serving the community.
