NEURALINK’S BRAIN IMPLANT ALLOWS QUADRIPLEGIC PATIENT TO PLAY CHESS WITH MIND

SAN FRANCISCO – A groundbreaking video released by Elon Musk’s American startup Neuralink showcases a quadriplegic patient playing chess with his mind using a brain implant. Noland Arbaugh, 29, who was left quadriplegic after a car accident, demonstrates how he can control a computer mouse and engage in various activities such as playing games and taking language lessons thanks to the innovative technology.

“It’s crazy. There’s still so much to do, but it’s already changed my life,” Arbaugh says, excited about the possibilities opened up by the brain implant. He jokingly refers to himself as becoming “telekinetic” and describes how the technology has simplified access to his hobbies, allowing him to move the cursor on the screen simply by intending to do so.

The head of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk, announced in January that Neuralink had successfully implanted its device in a patient as part of clinical trials. By the end of February, he revealed that the patient was able to control a computer mouse using only their mind. Arbaugh expressed his enthusiasm for being a part of a project that has the potential to change the world for individuals with disabilities.

The release of this video highlights the incredible advancements being made in the field of brain-computer interfaces and the potential for improving the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. Stay tuned for more updates on Neuralink’s innovative technology and its impact on the lives of patients like Noland Arbaugh.
