The Lodi Public Prosecutor’s Office has requested that the case for incitement to suicide relating to the death of Giovanna Pedretti, the 59-year-old restaurateur from Sant’Angelo Lodigiano found without her in the waters of the Lambro, be closed with a dismissal due to the lack of criminally relevant facts , after ending up at the center of a media case.

This was made known directly by the Lodi prosecutor Maurizio Romanelli through a press release. In the note, the magistrate underlined how the alleged homophobic and anti-disabled review left by a customer of the “Le Vignole” pizzeria and then relaunched on the restaurant’s Facebook page by the restaurateur herself was in reality false. The traces, according to what was reconstructed by the investigators, would be present in the woman’s cell phones. The note also underlines that “there was no contribution from third parties in the death of Mrs. Pedretti”.

This brings to a close a painful story, which has caused much discussion among public opinion, especially due to the interventions of bloggers and numerous exponents of the social world and beyond.

Selvaggia Lucarelli, who with her boyfriend Lorenzo Biagiarelli first questioned the review posted by the restaurateur, commented on social media: «No one induced anyone to commit suicide. The review was fake. The press lied twice: giving false news about the review and giving false news about who was responsible for a death. A squalid and petty story that tells the system well.”

Meanwhile, the work continues behind the counter of the pizzeria of Giovanna Pedretti’s husband and daughter, Nello D’Avino and Fiorina, 28 years old. A few weeks ago, after a long period of closure due to the tragedy that forever upset the life of a family and an entire community, Pedretti’s relatives reopened the restaurant with a new sign: it is called «Dal Nello», the new pizzeria, but without table service, a task that was managed directly by the 59-year-old. A choice that was welcomed with emotion by the entire Lodi community who, in recent months, has never stopped being close to Giovanna’s family, protecting their privacy in every way.
