In 1964, thanks to the intuition of Bruno Pasotto, in Pessano con Bornago, in the province of Milan, a reality came to life that today has established itself as a multinational among the top players in the hydraulic sector, thanks to its filtration products.
MP Filtri is now managed by the second generation of the Pasotto family, with their children Giovanni and Monica – respectively CEO and CFO of the company – at the helm. In addition to the Italian Headquarters, the Martesana company boasts a direct presence in Germany, France, United Kingdom, USA, Canada, Russia, India and China, together with a network of distributors present in more than 100 countries and is constantly expanding. After Shanghai and the United States in 2020 and the opening of the new French plant in Lyon last year, the new Singapore branch was inaugurated in January 2022.
The company has obtained important international certifications to attest to the excellence of its products and the deep attention to the quality system. The products dedicated to oil filtration that the Italian company puts on the market are no longer limited to the hydraulic sector, but rather turn out to be the best in various fields, ranging from the mobile market to the stationary industrial, from heavy industry to the world of renewable energy, naval and off-shore engineering, aeronautical systems and emerging technologies.
In the Lombard company, the essence of innovation is also closely related to the production and sharing of the knowledge factor. Inside the historic headquarters in Pessano con Bornago, there is a unique reality in Italy and among the few in Europe, which can count on 1,200 square meters of surface. An environment whose construction required an investment of approximately 2.5 million euros.
Thanks to this space, the company is able to offer the maximum guarantee in terms of quality and reliability, both as regards the verification of existing products, and as regards the development of new prototypes tailored to the different markets and in advance tested in terms of performance, design and size.
Prototyping, in particular, is made extremely fast by the supplied 3D printers, which allow the customer to immediately touch what was designed on the CAD systems.
The investment in research and the high specialization of the technical staff have allowed the development of technologically advanced products, which expand and innovate the range of filters for hydraulic systems and devices for the control of fluid contamination, together with components for the transmission of power and a complete line of accessories for hydraulic power packs, customizing the product according to the needs of the reference market.

The evaluation and monitoring of the parameters allow to minimize the risks related to the production processes. For example, noise pollution is limited by soundproofing panels, effective best practices are implemented to prevent accidents and waste recycling is encouraged. In the R&D laboratory, the temperature of the rooms takes advantage of the heating and cooling system, powered by geothermal and solar energy.
