PlayStation officially accepts long-term partner Valkyrie Entertainment

by admin

Sony buys co-development studio Valkyrie Entertainment

After Sony officially established its own production studio, PlayStation Studios, it has also successively taken a number of development partners under its umbrella. The latest one has participated in “God of War”, “The Last Battle: Infinite Halo Infinite” and “Special War Heroes”. Valkyrie Entertainment developed by Valorant. Valkyrie Entertainment, an exclusive game studio established in Seattle, USA in 2002, and their ongoing work is also cooperating with Sony’s Santa Monica Studio to develop the latest work “God of War: Ragnarok”.

Coming to December, I believe it can also settle the big shopping of PlayStation Studio in 2021. After the end of this year, they have successively acquired 5 game studios, including Housemarque, Nixxes Software, Firesprite, Bluepoint Games and Today PlayStation Studio’s Valkyrie Entertainment, and there are now 17 studios under the banner of PlayStation Studio.

Compared to the attitude of acquiring only two studios (Sucker Punch Productions and Insomniac Games) in the past ten years, Sony is obviously more positive. If you want to say what motivated them, it may be that in 2020, Microsoft acquired Bethesda’s parent company ZeniMax Media for up to 7.5 billion US dollars.
