Olive oil and tumors: the results
If instead we reach three spoons a day, the reduction in the risk of cancer mortality drops by 23 percent.
The main hypothesis is that the chances of dying from cancer are lowered because lExtra virgin olive oil reduces some of the most important health risk factors for chronic diseases. We know that tumors and cardiovascular diseases, such as neurodegenerative diseases, often have risk factors in common. Just think of the damage of cigarette smoking, ultra-processed foods, a sedentary lifestyle and alcohol abuse.
The study does not give definitive answers, because it was of an epidemiological nature, therefore it only investigated the link and not the reasons why this correlation exists. Further studies will now be needed to understand the reasons which underlie the results of this research.
