“We need to be ready for a new ‘disease x’ epidemic in ten or fifty years,” added Rezza.

We have other viruses, for example those transmitted by mosquitoes, which due to climate change could take on an international dimension. Those that worry us most , however, they are the respiratory ones. “
For Rezza there remains the need “to always have personal protective equipment, and to activate all that is possible in terms of medical countermeasures. We must plan already now, to avoid being faced with a new pandemic emergency”, he concluded.
