The Commissioner of Strategic Project for Economic Recovery and Transformation (PERTE) of Vanguard Health, Rachel Yotti, dependent on Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities has received Patrick Ward, Head of Pharma International del Roche group, Patrick Wallach, general director of Roche Farma Spain, and Federico Plaza, director of Corporate Affairs of the Spanish subsidiary. During the meeting, held at the Ministry headquarters, the representatives of Roche Farma reaffirmed the company’s firm commitment to Spain and, specifically, to the development of precision medicine and digital health.

Thus, those responsible for Roche highlighted the company’s role as one of the main drivers of personalized medicine in Spain based on the development of its three main pillars: precision diagnosis, targeted therapies, and data analysis.

In this sense, Roche works to consolidate its role as an ally of health systems in the face of offer integrated solutions in an increasingly complex environment where the development and implementation of new digital tools based on artificial intelligence algorithms is of particular importance to optimize healthcare processes and ensure a personalized approach to the main health problems.

As highlighted at the meeting, this new reality also affects the process of biomedical research, which is experiencing a true revolution hand in hand with the developments of personalized medicine, such as precision diagnosis through genomic sequencing and the use of big data and artificial intelligence tools.

All of this is allowing the development of innovative medicines to be accelerated and drive new clinical trial designs based on the molecular profile of the diseases, which allow increasing efficiency by facilitating dose selection, reducing the number of patients exposed to ineffective or potentially toxic doses, making an accurate calculation of the sample size and reducing time and costs.
