Munich, January 9, 2024 – The SHL Telemedicine Group, market-leading provider and developer of innovative telemedicine solutions, is a platinum partner of this year’s BMC Congress, which will take place from January 30th to 31st in Berlin. In cooperation with BARMER, one of the leading statutory health insurance companies in Germany with around 8.7 million insured people, the SHL Telemedicine Group is organizing the lecture hall session “The potential of digital patient care using the example of the BARMER Teledoctor.”

The joint session on January 31, 2024 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. will focus on the potential and added value of digital healthcare. The focus of the event is the BARMER Teledoktor, a pioneering solution that was developed jointly by SHL and BARMER with the aim of further improving the care of BARMER insured persons with simplified access to the healthcare market. The BARMER Teledoktor offers a variety of services, including the video consultation for sick notes and prescriptions, the digital skin check with dermatological assessment, the dermatological video consultation for acute help with skin complaints and an appointment service for quick specialist appointments near the patient.

Well-known experts take part in the session, including Dr. Christian Graf, area coordinator for care innovations at BARMER, Dr. med. Jana Henße, Managing Director of PRIMEDUS GmbH, and Bernd Altpeter, Managing Director of the SHL Telemedicine Group Germany. The speakers will provide valuable insights into what the use of digital solutions in patient care looks like from the perspective of medical practices, health insurance companies and telemedicine providers.
