Dario Belingheri, a 40-year-old man from Colere, has experienced firsthand the power of selfless acts of kindness and the impact it has on those around him. Dario’s journey began in 2006 when he joined the association of Blood donors from Val di Scalve, eventually becoming a member of Admo and a bone marrow donor. In 2011, Dario received a life-changing call from the Papa Giovanni XXIII Hospital in Bergamo, informing him that he was a potential match for a person in need of a bone marrow transplant. Without hesitation, Dario agreed to undergo the necessary procedures to donate his bone marrow, ultimately changing the recipient’s life.
The process of donating bone marrow involved several steps, including injections of a drug to promote the growth of hematopoietic stem cells, health checks, and the actual donation process.
