The Order of Doctors has opened an investigation into the current Undersecretary of Health Pierpaolo Sileri
Pierpaolo sileri, doctor and undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, is at the center of an investigation opened by his professional body. ‘La Repubblica’ writes it, according to which Sileri is accused of having worked for the public and for the affiliated together.
Specifically, the current Undersecretary of Health would be accused of having worked in the Villa Claudia clinic in Rome (structure affiliated with the regional health system) while he was on leave at theUniversity of TorVergata.
The reconstruction of the story
Over 2 years ago the regional councilor and vice president of the Health Commission, Antonello Aurigemma, sent to the health management of the Lazio region a series of exhibits on Sileri’s professional behavior.
In these days, the list of performances that Sileri would have performed at Villa Claudia has also arrived.
The list, as reported by ‘La Repubblica’, would count 46 items, ranging from the “first operator’s fee” to the “specialist visit”, from “rectosigmocoloscopy” to “operative polypectomy”. Attached to the list that the clinic sent to ASL Roma 1, the management secretariat of the structure wrote: “We inform you that Professor Paolo Sileri has occasionally carried out his professional activity at this nursing home from 20 March 2018 until to 25 January 2019 “.
In September, with two notes (dated 2 and 13 September), the councilor Aurigemma returned to ask for clarification from the councilor for Health Alessio D’Amato.
The Lazio Region, at that point, sent a first letter to the Order of Doctors, with the subject “Information regarding the professional activity carried out by Professor Paolo Sileri at the Nuova Villa Claudia nursing home”.
Asked by ‘La Repubblica’, the Order of Doctors has made it known that the documentation transmitted by the Region is not sufficient to date to formulate a complete judgment on the work of the under-secretary doctor.
While waiting for the Region to send the requested material, the Order of Doctors sent a letter to Sileri asking for a series of first explanations on his work.
The Order of Doctors also announced the opening of a file and the future convening of a commission to assess compliance with the law by the current Undersecretary of Health.
