Brownies with cherries

Rich, utterly irresistible and decadent – that’s the best way to describe these moist cherry brownies. The delicious dessert is every chocolate lover’s dream come true and is one of the tastiest cherry recipes we’ve ever tried.

Ingredients

120 grams wheat flour 150 grams unsalted butter, at room temperature 300 grams granulated sugar 3 eggs 70 grams cocoa powder 200 grams dark chocolate 250 grams cherries 1/2 tsp baking powder Pinch of salt

preparation

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees (160 degrees fan oven) and lightly grease a square baking tin with butter and line with baking paper. Combine butter and 100 grams of sugar in a medium saucepan and heat over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until sugar has dissolved. Set aside and let cool slightly. Place eggs and remaining sugar in a large bowl and beat with hand mixer for 4-5 minutes until light and fluffy. Add butter mixture to egg mixture and mix until smooth. Mix the wheat flour, cocoa powder, salt and baking powder in a separate bowl and gradually add to the wet ingredients. Pit and halve the cherries and chop the chocolate into small pieces. Add the chocolate and cherries to the batter and mix. Pour the batter into the baking pan and bake for about 38-40 minutes. Allow to cool completely and voila – your moist cherry brownies are done!

Tasty variations

Make Moist Cheesecake Brownies – For the cheesecake filling, mix 200 grams of cream cheese with 50 grams of powdered sugar and 1 egg and pour the mixture onto the brownie batter. Then whisk with a fork and bake for 45 minutes. And your cheesecake brownies with cherries are done. To make the brownies vegan, replace the butter with coconut oil and the eggs with 20 grams of ground flaxseed mixed with 120 ml of water.
