New Outdoor Gym Opens at Paul Harris Park in Forlì

Forlì, Italy – In a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, the first outdoor gym at Paul Harris Park was inaugurated. The event was attended by the deputy mayor in charge of sport, Daniele Mezzacapo, who supported the mayor Gian Luca Zattini in opening the facility.

The outdoor gym is a part of the ASC project, which is funded by the Department of Sport of the Ministry. Forlì is one of the 10 cities that proudly host the project, which aims to promote sports and physical activity among both young and elderly citizens. The initiative is part of the “Sport in the Parks” program, encouraging outdoor physical activity for individuals and groups.

Mezzacapo emphasized the importance of sports in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and expressed his pride in the city’s efforts to promote sports at a national level. The event also saw the presence of Olympic champion Maurizio Damilano and other prominent figures in the sports community.

The Popup Sport Zone project, which includes the new outdoor gym at Paul Harris Park, aims to promote sports practice, sociability, and integration. It also aims to reduce travel times and contain polluting emissions by encouraging sports activities within walking or cycling distance of residents’ homes.

The Popup Sport Zones are equipped outdoor areas accessible to everyone, including individuals with disabilities, and are free to use at any time of the day. The project will also be supported by a dedicated app and a digitalization system to provide information on the activities available at each location.
