The five TV series not to be missed in June: it’s the month of the dysfunctional superhero

If you like superheroes, street criminals and robots than what they seem this is your month. Three names: Ms Marvel then The Umbrella Academy and The Boys. The most awaited is the last one nominated. Superhero hunters play a league of their own. Black humor and splatter: the first two series have thrilled, also because they are finally something different. Same goes for Peaky Blinders, they are not superheroes but real criminals. We are in the final season.

Ms Marvel – Season 1 – June 8

Kamala Khan is a Muslim American teenager growing up in Jersey City. Passionate gamer and tireless writer of fan-fiction. She is the Marvel Comic Reader Going Super Hero. The trade operation is easy easy. Ms Marvel is not what you expect. Only for teenagers and adults who like bourgeois reflection on the meaning of superpowers. (Disney +)

Peaky Blinders – Stagione 6

Peaky Blinders – Season 6 – June 10th

We are at the end, we are in the final battle. Will the Shelby crime family react and recover? Nothing has gone wrong in this British series to the core. It’s all right, the actors, the setting and the plot hit the spot. The result of the narrative algorithm is disturbing, violent and never linear. Birmingham’s slums have been the Gotham City of World War I for six years. Good vision. And let’s hope it all ends badly. (Netflix)

The Umbrella Academy – Season 3

The Umbrella Academy – Season 3 – June 22

The dysfunctional family with superpowers who hate each other but ultimately love each other could have got off to a better start. Anyone expecting something new was disappointed. But the actors work, Ellen Page is perfect but my favorite is Robert Sheehan. The third season stands thanks to them. Only to them. (Netflix).

The Boys – Season 3 – June 3.

For once, the comic is less beautiful than the TV series. The Boys is irreverent and refined in his being violent and splatter. You smile between your teeth and in every episode there is always something unexpected that sticks to the brain. Where were we? Patriot is under control. Butcher works for the government, overseen by Hughie of all. All right then? Not really. (Amazon Prime)
