Henriette van Praag, a biomedical sciences academic at Florida Atlantic University, has dedicated her research to studying the relationship between exercise and the brain. Her findings, published in the journal Nature Neuroscience, suggest that physical activity can stimulate the growth of new brain cells, particularly in older individuals. While the effects of exercise on the brain in humans are still being studied, there is consensus among researchers that regular physical activity can have significant benefits for brain health.

Regular exercise can also help prevent the age-related decline in brain volume.
