Donini: “We reiterate our concrete commitment to people in difficulty”
The interventions for residents and workers in the earthquake-hit areas still dealing with the consequences of the earthquake have been extended throughout 2024. Concessions for people involved in crisis situations and other vulnerable groups have been confirmed until 31 March, in line with the deadline for self-certifications and in view of an update of the regulatory framework
Bologna – Renovated also for the 2024 ticket exemption for specialist visits and tests a favor of those who live and work in the territory affected by the earthquake 2012 in a situation of great hardship. Same exemption, extended until March 31st in line with the validity deadline of the self-certifications, for peopleand their respective ones dependent family members, involved in crisis situations.
The Regional council confirms support measures to citizens in greater difficulty, for whom even sharing in healthcare spending can represent a significant cost: the approval of the resolutions with which the dual commitment is renewed, which corresponds to a total loss of income of approximately 200 thousand euros.
“We continue year after year to renew concrete support to those who find themselves in situations of difficulty and economic crisis, aware that having these services guaranteed by the healthcare system means having one less thing to worry about – states the councilor for health policies , Raffaele Donini-. Also considering the historical moment we are experiencing, there are people who have lost their jobs, who have had to close their own businesses, or who have not completely overcome the economic consequences of the 2012 earthquake. Not paying the co-pay for healthcare services is a small help, but it has a symbolic value for the public and universal healthcare system in which we strongly believe”.
Exemption for workers and residents in earthquake areas
Following the extension of the state of emergency for the 2012 earthquake the Council has approved until 31 December 2024 the continuation of interventions regarding cost sharing for access to specialist outpatient, pharmaceutical and spa assistance services in the areas affected by the earthquake.
In detail theexemption applies to outpatient services (specialist visits and exams) taken advantage of at accredited public and private healthcare facilities located in the regional territory, to spa assistance and class C drugs included in the handbooks of the territorial local health authorities and in direct distribution, with methods defined by the individual local health authorities.
The benefit is a benefit of residents in earthquake-stricken municipalities who find themselves in particularly difficult situations as they are forced to leave their home, professional office or company, following an order from the mayor regarding the unusability and/or eviction of the premises, and extends to the members of their family unit or in any case to the first degree relatives of people who died due to of the earthquake and to employees of companies operating in the affected municipalities, even if not resident in those areas.
Citizens and workers of the Municipalities are affected by the measure Fabricator, Reggiolo, role, Guastalla e Luzzara in the province of Reggio Emilia; Bastille, Bomporto, Bondeno, Camposanto, Carpi, Cavezzo, Concordia sulla Secchia, San Felice sul Panaro, Medolla, Mirandola, They love it, Novi di Modena, San Poxidenio, San Prospero, Emilia final e Solierain the province of Modena; Ferrara, Cent, Poggio Renatico, Lands of the Rhine e Vigarano Mainarda, in the province of Ferrara; In the end Crevalcore, Pieve di Cento, Galliera e San Giovanni in Persicetoin the province of Bologna.
The measure concerns approximately 700 people, with a burden borne by the regional health service estimated at 50.000 euro.
Support for poor families
The segment of the population exempted from paying the health care fee is larger than the citizens of the territories affected by the earthquake as it is affected in crisis situations or belonging to certain weak groups. For the moment the renewal of the exemption is extended until March 31in line with the expiration of the validity of self-certifications and in view of an update of the regulatory framework.
