An alliance between Newsweek and Statista revealed the top hospitals in the world, with over 2,400 institutions from different countries participating in the ranking. Nancy Cooper, editor-at-large of Newsweek, explained that each hospital’s score was determined through an online survey involving more than 85,000 professionals. Factors such as patient surveys, patient/doctor ratio, and evaluation methods were also considered.
In the ranking, the Valle del Lili Foundation in Cali, Colombia, secured the 162nd position, followed by the Santa Fé de Bogotá Foundation at 244. The top two spots were claimed by Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, both from the United States. Toronto General Hospital in Canada took the third spot, followed by John Hopkins Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital, also from the US, in the fourth and fifth positions.
Newsweek highlighted the inclusion of hospitals from countries like South Korea, Malaysia, and Chile in the ranking for the first time since its inception in 2019. The annual rankings provide valuable information for patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
