University, Medicine in Foggia doubles: from 90 to 180 seats

FOGGIA – “This year we offer 180 students the opportunity to enroll in the degree course in Medicine”, compared to 90 in previous years. Thus the rector of the University of Foggia, Pierpaolo Limone, announced a doubling of the places available for the degree course in Medicine and Surgery. «In fact, Limone specifies – we double the numbers compared to previous years. It is an extraordinary experience, obtained thanks to the Miur. We are able to do this because there have been major investments in infrastructure, in the recruitment of teachers. Of course, all for the benefit of our territory ».
For the director of the Department of Medical and Surgical Sciences of Foggia, Gaetano Serviddio, «it is a challenge that the University of Foggia launches to the Capitanata. We first aimed to climb the Italian rankings for the quality of the degree course in Medicine, to reach the high qualitative and training standards of our students, and only afterwards to launch the challenge of doubling the number ». “Medicine – concludes Serviddio – is never just quantity but above all the quality of advanced training”.
