Unreal Engine 5 is officially open to developers

Epic Games

At an earlier State of Unreal event, Epic Games announced that Unreal Engine 5 is officially open to developers worldwide. So far, the early access version of UE5 has been launched for almost a year. With the launch of the official version, developers will be able to fully create a new generation of games with features such as Nanite virtualized micropolygon geometry system, Lumen full dynamic global lighting solution, open world scene, animation and MetaSounds audio production.

In addition, Epic also announced a new dynamic photogrammetry and pinching solution this time. Thanks to the automatic division of regions and the multi-player collaborative development system in the same region, creating an open world will also become easier. At the end of the event, a representative of Crystal Dynamics also appeared to confirm that the new work of “Tomb Raider” will be developed based on UE5. Coupled with the new works of “Black Myth: Wukong” and “The Witcher” that were previously set to be built with this engine, the game lineup is already quite exciting.
