WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram have stopped working, in Italy and in some parts of the world, from about 5:40 pm Italian time.
The downdetector.it site, which monitors problems and periods of inactivity in real time, reports a high number of reports concerning the three services owned by Facebook.
On Twitter hashtags #whatsappdown, #instagramdown and #facebookdown immediately became trending topics: the three hashtags in a few minutes generated a volume of about 100 thousand tweets.
Also on Twitter, on which users generally flock when these disruptions occur, the usual social irony has been triggered that underlines how Jack Dorsey’s microblogging site regularly proves to be a safe parachute.
