The Alicante Shelter for Homeless People (CAI), managed by the Health and Community Foundation (FSC), recently opened its doors to the community for a day of physical exercise and sports. Around 150 participants gathered for various activities, including a First Run-Walk Marathon and an adapted karate Masterclass. The event featured special guest Kiko Martínez, a world champion boxer, who shared his experience and the importance of hard work and perseverance.
Juan Almiñana, a karate teacher at CAI, also shared his experience and the benefits of karate for homeless individuals, including physical development, self-defense skills, discipline, and self-esteem. The day concluded with an open-air aperitif where participants and volunteers shared their experiences and discussed future activities.
