2022 China Digital Economy Innovation and Development Conference was successfully held Guangdong Provincial People’s Government Portal

On July 8, the “2022 China Digital Economy Innovation and Development Conference” jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Guangdong Provincial People’s Government opened in Shantou City, Guangdong Province. The theme of the conference is “Gathering Data and Connecting Overseas Chinese to Create the Future – Creating a Pioneering Area for International Cooperation in Digital Economy”, and will focus on building an important window for the international cooperation and innovation of my country’s digital economy and a national platform for the opening of the digital economy to serve overseas Chinese. Xu Kemin, Chief Economist of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and Sun Zhiyang, Vice Governor of Guangdong Province attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.

Xu Kemin said that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology is striving to promote the deep integration of digital technology and the real economy, the comprehensive strength of new infrastructure has reached a new level, key digital industries have developed and expanded, and new technologies such as big data, cloud computing, and blockchain have been developed. Products and new platforms continue to emerge, and the pace of industrial digital integration is increasingly solid. In the next step, relevant work will be carried out in five areas: tackling key core technologies, building new digital infrastructure, promoting the integration of the digital economy and the real economy, stimulating the potential of data elements, and strengthening digital economy governance.

Sun Zhiyang said that as a major province in the digital economy, Guangdong has comprehensively promoted the construction of a strong digital economy province. The added value of the digital economy has ranked first in the country for five consecutive years, and the scale of the electronic information manufacturing industry has ranked first in the country for 31 consecutive years. It has promoted more than 22,500 industrial enterprises. The digital transformation of enterprises has driven 650,000 small and medium-sized enterprises to “go to the cloud and use the cloud”. In the next step, Guangdong will strengthen resource protection, create a superior digital economy ecology, and make every effort to create a market-oriented and legalized international business environment.

At the opening ceremony, the “Guidelines for the Development of Digital Economy in Guangdong Province 1.0” was released, and ceremonies such as the signing of digital industry projects, the establishment of the Industrial Software Innovation Cooperation Center, and the launch of the Guangdong Province Industrial Internet Security In-depth Program were held.
