It is the numbers of patients that from 1 November 2023 to 14 January 2024 they turned to 21 Assistance and emergency centers in Emilia-Romagna, of the 24 already active from Piacenza to Rimini, always on the same date. In the monitored CAUs, good start-up data on two fronts is confirmed: average waiting timewhich in the last week is reduced to 1 noand almost all the patients it finds assistance and care directly within the facility, 84%. Orthopedic, gastrointestinal problems and minor ailments remain the most frequent reasons for access, overall 54% of cases: these are those low-complexity emergencies for which the Region has established the CAUs. The vast majority of accesses (82%) happens during daytimeand for the 69% by people aged between 18 to 64 years old.
The numbers concern in particular the CAU of Piacenza, Bobbio, Podenzano (PC); Parma and Fidenza; Reggio Emilia and Correggio; Modena, Castelfranco Emilia and Finale Emilia (MO); Budrio, Vergato, Navile and Casalecchio di Reno (BO); Imola; Comacchio, Copparo, Ferrara and Portomaggiore (FE); Cervia (RA) and Cattolica (RN).
In summary, from November 1st to January 14th in the 21 monitored CAUs the numbers are: 28,636 accesses, 82% of which during daytime (including the 4 centers in the Ferrara area and those in Imola and Correggio open only during the day); on average 19 accesses per day in the morning (from 8am to 2pm) and 16 in the afternoon (from 2pm to 8pm); on the other hand, daily access during night time (from 8pm to 8am) varies from a minimum of 1 to a maximum of 33. 8 out of 10 patients (exactly 84%) sent to the GP at the end of the course, therefore with assistance and care provided on site; waiting times which in the last week of monitoring are equal to 1 hour and reach a maximum of 2 hours; cases mostly (54%) orthopaedic, gastrointestinal and related to minor disorders; finally, 69% of accesses concerned citizens between 18 and 64 years old.
