[서울=뉴시스]Reporter Lee Jae-hoon = ‘Rock ballader’ singer Kim Jung-min, who celebrated his 30th debut anniversary this year, is touring nationwide for the first time in 6 years.
According to his agency Silverstone Entertainment on the 22nd, Kim Jung-min will hold a national tour concert ‘LIVE STATR’ starting at the Donghae Culture and Arts Center at Kwangwoon University in Seoul on February 25th. This is the first tour to be held since ‘RE:START’ held in 2017-2018.
After the Seoul performance, the tour will continue to the Daegu Culture and Arts Center’s Palgong Hall on March 17th, Busan’s KBS Hall on the 24th of the same month, Bucheon Citizens’ Center Grand Performance Hall on April 7th, and Gunsan Arts Center’s Grand Performance Hall on the 14th. Afterwards, other regional performances will be added sequentially.
In this performance, Kim Jung-min will perform hit songs such as ‘Sad Covenant Ceremony’, ‘Lover’, and ‘Infinite Love’. In particular, he will perform ‘Eternity’, which was released last November, for his first live performance. A song by SKY Choi Jin-young (1971-2010) released in 1999 was reinterpreted as an electronic ballad.
‘Eternal’ is a song that has a particularly deep meaning to Kim Jung-min. Originally, Kim Jung-min was going to be the first to sing, but Choi Jin-young made the connection first. Kim Jung-min and Choi Jin-young also have a close relationship. Kim Jung-min was so shocked after Choi Jin-young left that he was unable to sing ‘Eternal’ for a long time.
The reason Kim Jung-min released this song was to remember Choi Jin-young. Ahead of the upcoming 14th anniversary of Choi Jin-young’s death (March 29), Kim Jung-min said, “I hope that many people will remember Jinyoung for a long time, and that they will always remember ‘eternity’.”
Kim Jung-min debuted in 1994 with his first album ‘Stay in Your Love’. He dominated the 1990s with hit songs such as ‘Sad Covenant Ceremony’, ‘Last Promise’, ‘Rain’, and ‘Infinite Love’. He also worked as an actor in dramas and musicals. Regarding the 30th anniversary this year, Kim Jung-min said, “I am preparing for this performance with gratitude to the fans who have waited and supported me for a long time, and with the feeling of meeting old friends again.”
