It was initially verified that 14 people were killed, 12 were seriously injured, and 14 were slightly injured. According to eyewitnesses, there was a wedding photography shop in the warehouse. When the fire broke out, someone in a formal dress jumped off the building to escape.
At 19:38 on July 24, Changchun Jingyue High-tech Zone Management Committee issued an announcement that a serious fire broke out in a logistics warehouse in Jingyue High-tech Industrial Development Zone.
According to video footage taken by witnesses, a three-story building caught fire and billowing black smoke came out of the windows. Many trapped people jumped off the building to escape, and some were wearing wedding dresses. Residents nearby used them to climb ladders to help trapped people escape.
Witnesses said that it took only two or three minutes from seeing the smoke to being completely invisible.
It is reported that there are many companies such as wedding photography shops in the warehouse, and the Li’s Wedding Dream City is on fire.
According to the company’s investigation, the Li’s Weiai Photography Center in Jingyue High-tech Industrial Development Zone was established on May 24, 2021, and its address is No. 472, Yinfeng Road, Jingyue Development Zone. Business scope: photography expansion service, camera and equipment sales, wedding dress rental and sales. The address of this wedding photography center is the same as the address of the fire warehouse.
Witness Mr. Park told upstream news that the fire took place in the Li’s Wedding Dream City. “Black smoke emerged from the scene at four o’clock in the afternoon, and it can be seen several kilometers away.”
Mr. Park was driving in this direction and saw multiple ambulances. He said, “This store is quite large, and there is a logistics company in the same courtyard. After the incident, more than ten fire trucks were on the scene to rescue.”
According to the announcement issued by the Changchun Jingyue High-tech Zone Management Committee, it was initially verified that the fire accident had caused 14 deaths, 12 serious injuries, and 14 general bone injuries and traumas. The search and rescue work is still in progress, and the cause of the accident is under investigation.
