During the search and seizure procedure, our uniformed officers captured four individuals in flagrante delicto, allegedly led by a subject nicknamed ‘Andrés, these subjects had been operating clandestinely for approximately a month in the region.

Inside the raided property, 60 people of Venezuelan nationality were found, including pregnant women and children. These victims had entered Colombia illegally from illegal border crossings in the municipality of Maicao-Guajira.

The criminal network recruited through social networks such as Facebook and WhatsApp, promising to transport migrants to Mexico for sums between 1,000 and 2,000 dollars. Once recruited, they were forced to work in informal sales and begging in Aguachica to pay for their stay and pay a fee. percentage to traffickers.

The final destination planned for the migrants was the municipality of Necoclí, in Urabá Antioquia, for which they had to raise additional money for their transportation.

Among the items seized are two high-end vehicles, a firearm and three cell phones.

This blow to migrant trafficking represents significant progress in the fight against this type of transnational crimes, protecting the rights and safety of vulnerable migrants. The authorities continue to investigate to completely dismantle this network and bring those responsible to justice.

The detainees were left at the disposal of the competent authorities to resolve their judicial situation.
