Accidents at work, in Perugia a worker dies crushed by a collapsed wall

Fatal accident at work in Perugia. At about 4.45 pm in Ponte San Giovanni at the Umbra Acque headquarters, a 57-year-old worker died crushed by the collapse of a wall while driving a truck. The vehicle was carrying an excavator which, due to causes under investigation, hitting the wall of the building caused its detachment. The intervention of the Carabinieri of the Ponte San Giovanni station, of 118 and of the ASL was immediate.

The collapsed wall engulfed the cab of the truck inside which was the man who so died. “Deep condolence” was expressed by Umbra Acque for the disappearance of the worker. The incident occurred at the start of the shift. “The board of directors and colleagues, deeply saddened – reads a note released by Umbra Acque – remember him with esteem for his work and are close with affection to his loved ones”. Now the Prosecutor’s Office of Perugia is investigating, which will provide further news in the coming days.
