Acodres Cesar seeks to strengthen the gastronomic industry with cooperation from Israel

The Colombian Association of the Gastronomic Industry (Acodres), Cesar section, held a meeting with the Israeli ambassador to Colombia, Gali Dagan, and Guillermo Gómez París, executive president of the industry. The initiative aimed to strengthen cooperation ties in Cesar and the country’s gastronomic industry.

According to what was stated by Javier Arroyo, executive director of Acodres Cesar, the dialogue with the senior official sought to address the situation of the department’s gastronomic sector. “In this meeting we asked the ambassador that all the cooperation that exists between the State of Israel and Colombia can benefit the department of Cesar,” Arroyo said.

Technological and agricultural strategies for Cesar

Arroyo highlighted that the technological strategies that are being implemented in Cesar could generate better results in the region’s gastronomic industry.

“They are leaders in innovation, technology, agricultural development and security. This is taking into account that the department has an agricultural vocation that has not been exploited to its maximum potential, which means that as a union we suffer, because most of the inputs we use in restaurants are purchased from departments such as Antioquia, Cundinamarca, Santander and Atlántico. Having in Cesar more than 600 thousand hectares that have the potential to generate agricultural production, circular economy, territorial development and transformation of raw materials,” said the executive director of Acodres.

The Acodres representative added that the ambassador would be visiting the department to provide support to the gastronomic sector, both public and private. “During the course of this year, the ambassador could be visiting us, in the company of the Economic Mission, to articulate this type of support with the public-private sector,” said Arroyo.

Another proposal that will be presented during the senior official’s visit is the possibility that young people from the department can be part of the scholarship program that the Israeli country has. “This is a program that exists, an agreement, it is not exclusively gastronomic, it is what they offer. This is something that had not happened before, since Cesar had not had a connection with the embassy, but this was already something that was contemplated, because in the last decade only ten people from the department have been able to be beneficiaries of the scholarships,” said the director of Acodres Cesar.
