On July 14, the School of Integrated Circuits of Huazhong University of Science and Technology was inaugurated and established! Professor Miao Xiangshui of Huazhong University of Science and Technology serves as the dean of the College of Integrated Circuits.
Since the establishment of semiconductor-related majors in 1960, Huazhong University of Science and Technology has successively been approved as the National Integrated Circuit Talent Training Base, the National Demonstrative Microelectronics Institute, and the National Integrated Circuit Industry and Education Innovation Platform, which has accumulated a solid foundation in integrated circuits.
Huazhong University of Science and Technology‘s official Weibo introduced that the School of Integrated Circuits of Huazhong University of Science and Technology aims to serve major national strategies and regional economic development.Aiming at the “stuck neck” problem of integrated circuits, focusing on the frontiers of integrated circuits, breaking disciplinary barriers, strengthening cross-integration, and breaking through key core technologies,Cultivate the country’s urgently needed talents, realize the international leader in integrated circuit disciplines, support the independent innovation and development of my country’s integrated circuit industry, and build special directions such as memory, sensors, optoelectronic chips, displays, and compound semiconductors.
It is reported that, in accordance with the idea of ”international vision, top-notch demonstration, collaborative education, independent core creation, and service to the local area”, the Institute of Integrated Circuits will give full play to the advantages of integration of production and education to support and lead through the “trinity” of talent training, scientific research, and discipline construction. The IC industry in Central China is developing rapidly.
On July 15, the inauguration ceremony of Peking University College of Integrated Circuits was held in the Sunshine Hall of Peking University Yingjie Exchange Center.

It is worth mentioning that only Tsinghua University, Peking University and Huazhong University of Science and Technology in the country have been approved for the Future Technology College and the National Integrated Circuit Industry-Education Innovation Platform at the same time.
