Towards the merger, by incorporation, of Versuni Manufacturing Italy Srl (from Saeco) of Gaggio Montano in the province of Bologna with Gaggia Spa, a Milanese company of the same group. And shared mechanisms, including incentives, for the voluntary mobility of 25 redundant workers, out of a total of 205 units in force in the company in the Bolognese Apennines.

This, in summary, is the agreement signed in Region during the crisis table convened by the regional councilor for economic development and work, Vincenzo Colla. Agreement signed by the institutions present – in addition to the Region, the Metropolitan City of Bologna with Sergio Lo Giudice and the Municipality of Gaggio Montano with the mayor Giuseppe Pucci-, by the top management of the company, assisted by Confindustria Emilia Area-Centraland by trade unions (Fiom-Cgil, Fim-Cisl, Uilm-Uil and Rsu), with the aim of relaunching the company in the manufacturing sector production of automatic espresso coffee machines for domestic use.

A reorganization process

The agreement signed today also provides for the regulation of relations between the company and workers in relation to the agreements reached in the context of the collective dismissal procedure.

The international group, of which Versuni is part, aims to implement a unitary reorganization and restructuring project, aimed at strengthen the group’s presence in Italy to strengthen their commercial activities.

The merger in June

Thus, presumably from June 2024, Versuni Manufacturing Italy Srl and Gaggia Spa will be merged by incorporation, with the consequent creation of a new, more solid and distinct legal entity, with headquarters in Gaggio Montano where there will also be management of spare parts production and storage activities, compatibly with company and business needs. With a consequent and limited impact on part of the workforce, i.e. the redundancy of 25 employees.

“This agreement is the result of the highly responsible work of the trade union organizations and workers’ representatives, which led to the best possible mediation. The operation that concluded today – said Colla – is complex, but with an industrial plan that fits into a prospective scenario. A relaunch of the production site in a fragile territorial context, precisely due to its location in a small municipality in the Bolognese Apennines, which is of strategic importance for the social stability of the territory. The Region is now committed to supporting this transition with its own legislative and regulatory tools.”

The Gaggia brand, 100% made in Italy

The industrial plan relating to the Gaggia brand in Italy, implemented by the international group for the years 2024-2026, has the objective of support sales growth and provides for the strengthening of the global commercial network, also through the development of digital channels; product innovation and expansion of the accessories range; the continuous improvement of process and product quality, facilitated by the synergies and better collaboration brought about by the reorganization. Advertising and promotional investments are also planned to support commercial plans, leveraging the unique and exclusive positioning of specialist espresso brand, 100% made in Italy.
