All parties in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict are willing to sit around the table again to negotiate a ceasefire. Al-Qahera News, the Egyptian channel that is close to the intelligence services, reported this on Tuesday evening.
Negotiations are still taking place in the Egyptian capital Cairo between Israel and a delegation from the extremist Palestinian organization Hamas. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu previously stated that an Israeli delegation is in Cairo to negotiate a draft agreement aimed at establishing a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
At the same time, the Israeli army announced that it had captured the Palestinian side of the Rafah border crossing in the south of the Gaza Strip. Israeli special forces would comb the area.
Egypt warned Israel on Tuesday evening of the dangers of an escalation of the conflict if the country continues to attack Rafah. Cairo says it is ready for all “possible scenarios”.
