The Plenary Session of the Judiciary Council appointed Ángela Ágreda Benavides as provincial director in Imbabura.

IBARRA. – In extraordinary session No. 009-2024, on January 18, 2024, the Plenary Session of the Judiciary Council (CJ) appointed Professor Ángela Ágreda Benavides as provincial director.

On her resume, she has a PhD in Jurisprudence, as well as a master’s degree in Criminal Law and Criminology, as well as a specialty in Criminal Law and Indigenous Justice.

She has also served as attorney general of the Municipality of Ibarra and the Provincial Government of Imbabura, as a teacher at the Technical University of the North and as director (e) and regional lawyer of the State Comptroller General’s Office.

She was legal advisor to the National Water Secretariat, head of Human Resources and legal advisor to the Municipality of Cotacachi, lawyer to the Ibarra Chamber of Commerce, as well as to Projusticia in the Superior Court of Justice.

The new authority committed to consolidating the justice service, making it efficient and transparent. “We will work tirelessly to provide quality judicial service to citizens.”

He added that his management will be open to citizens, stating that he will prioritize work in the territory to gather the specific needs of the legal community.
