Arnoldo Palacios in ConversanDos
Isaacs Virtual Center
A journey through the writer’s life, from his beginnings as a reader in early childhood, until arriving in Bogotá during the time of El Bogotazo.
His first years in Cértegui, observing nature, its people and their daily lives, fed his imagination.
The poliomyelitis he suffered as a child was not an impediment for him to do what he always wanted: travel, study and write.
Upon his arrival in Bogotá he met intellectuals of the stature of Manuel Zapata Olivella, Diego Luis Córdoba, Rogerio Velásquez, among others, with whom he forged his critical thinking regarding the black communities of Colombia.
His trip to Africa was impressive because it allowed him to directly understand the entire process of agricultural history in Colombia and led him to share impressions and dialogue with the great black thinkers, such as Aimé Césaire, Franz Fanon and Léopold Sédar Senghor.
