Assembly will reduce 20% of its administrative staff

EMPLOYMENT.

The National Assembly will have a 20% cut in its administrative staff. The announcement was made by the president of the entity, Henry Kronfle, in a conversation in which he addressed several topics about his management.

Assembly Speaker Henry Kronfle announced staff cuts

Kronfle explained that, by Law, each legislator has the right to a team of four advisors. In addition, the 15 permanent and 2 occasional commissions that operate in the Assembly require specific personnel for their operation.

Therefore, cuts will not be made in those areas. Therefore, the staff reduction will be administrative. Kronfle said that this action is part of the example that must be set for the decrease in public spending that the country needs.

The President of the Assembly mentioned that the extended budget was reduced compared to that of the previous legislature “by almost USD 1 million.” He recalled that the current budget amounts to nearly USD 50 million, which was agreed with the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

Kronfle also said that a change planned for the Assembly in terms of technology and the expansion that Parliament will require due to the increase in legislators expected after the next elections is pending. It is planned to resume this once the situation in the country improves. /The express.
