VITERBO. He barricaded himself inside his apartment in via Berlinguer, in Civita Castellana in the province of Viterbo, threatening to blow up the building and firing some rubber bullets with an airsoft pistol when the police arrived on the spot. It happened in the early afternoon today when the neighbors gave the alarm, frightened by the screams of the man. The 45-year-old from Campania would have been convinced to give up late in the evening.
The soldiers in riot gear broke into the man’s apartment, at least one carabiniere was injured. Ambulances and police forces are on site. Some condominiums claimed that the firefighters would turn off the gas to proceed with the operations.
The injured carabiniere was hit in the limb with a stabbing weapon. His condition, from what we learn, would not be serious. He was transported to the hospital. The man who barricaded himself at home was also taken to a hospital by ambulance.
