Pandemic and additional work postpone the conclusion. There are still many nodes to be solved to redevelop the station
BELLUNO. It was supposed to be the year of the inaugurations. Instead, the ribbon cutting for urban regeneration works will have to wait. Even several months. The Covid pandemic has slowed down the work of companies, and also entailed additional burdens for safety on construction sites; in addition, during the works, problems emerged that were not known in the design phase, and that required variants that postpone the conclusion of the interventions.
The restoration of the Gabelli will not be finished before 2022. It will arrive at the end of the year, but it is probable for the next one, also for the Crepadona. The only construction site that should be completed this year, despite the extension requested by the companies, is that of the former Jesuit church: the works should be completed at the end of September.
The works on the Lambioi river park and in the station square have yet to be started. And the Antole – Casoni cycle path is finished, but the bridge cannot be used because the parapets are missing. To take stock of the situation was the commissioner Franco Frison, in the last town planning commission. All the interventions are financed with the Periferie Call.
Crepadona.
The intervention seemed to be the most advanced, but the redevelopment of Palazzo Crepadona will postpone a few months with respect to the expected timescales. The work was to be delivered in September. The delay, Frison explained to the commission, is due to additional work that proved necessary and the Covid pandemic “There are also additional hypotheses regarding the works that must be carried out, and which will have to be evaluated later with a further variant Frison added. The end of the works, therefore, could postpone further.
Gabelli
It is the most important construction site for the Massaro administration, which finances it for half (3.3 million out of a total amount of 6,650,000 euros). First the Superintendency established that the windows could not be changed, but restored; then during the cleaning of the plasters non-original patches from the 1930s emerged, which had to be homogenized with the remainder. Therefore, the need emerged to waterproof some sections of the basement and to redo the sewers, damaged by the roots of the guardino trees. All processes that will take time. The expected date for the delivery of the finished school was November 2021, the restoration will instead end in 2022 forwarded.
Former Jesuit church
The redevelopment of the former Jesuit church will cost 2.2 million and the ribbon cutting could take place at the end of the year. October, if companies do not ask for further extensions. The first was asked because the archaeological excavations took longer than expected, and because the Superintendency established that the plants had to be buried, rather than exposed.
Piave barracks
The time for the completion of the interventions in the “citadel of the third sector”, at the former Piave barracks, is also expanding. The redevelopment of the outdoor spaces will cost 1.3 million, all financed by the state. Also in this case the company should ask for an extension (the construction site was to be finished in May) because it has to do some additional works: for example, it was necessary to divert the rainwater towards a stream towards the Piave.
The unfinished and the other works at stake
The Antole – Casoni cycle path is finished, but the parapets are missing on the bridge. It was assumed to keep the existing ones, which however were not consistent with the structure of the bridge and were dangerous for possible collapses. To complete this work, the Municipality took part in the second call for urban regeneration.
Finally, there are two projects that have not yet been built: the redevelopment of the Lambioi river park will start within the year; the arrangement of the station square is not known, because there are still many critical issues to be resolved. Last but not least the one that affects via De Min, where a citizens’ committee was formed against the use of the road as a parking area for vehicles, for reasons of safety as well as livability. The Municipality has asked the Prefecture to coordinate a table that reconciles the legitimate interests of all the players in the field, Frison recalled.
