It’s no longer a hype, but a lifestyle. Lisa and Julia Lindner also think so. Tomorrow, Saturday, the sisters will bring the spirit of the musician Taylor Swift to the PPC in Graz with the “ParTAY – Taylor Swift Themed Dance Party”. An evening where all Swifties, as the fans call themselves, can celebrate the pop star’s music together. “We hardly have any other Swifties in our circle of friends. The event should be an opportunity for everyone to get to know new people through their favorite music and feel the solidarity,” says Julia Lindner, explaining the concept of the event.

Globally, the Swifties have developed into a surprisingly serious group. In Seattle, they achieved force of nature status when the dancing and jumping crowd at one of the singer’s concerts triggered a 2.3 magnitude earthquake. It’s no longer just teenagers among the fans, as is often clichéd. Mark Zuckerberg, Kevin Costner and Chilean President Gabriel Boric confess their affiliation.

„Love Story“

The Graz sisters’ love for the musician began early on: “For both of us, it was probably the music video for “Teardrops on my Guitar” from Swift’s debut album,” remembers Lisa, “we liked having dance parties together, turning up the music and sang along loudly.” This is exactly the feeling that “ParTAY” should have: “We want to give people the opportunity to enjoy the music together.” And anyone who fears that it will be too one-sided musically doesn’t know Swift’s discography well enough. With ten studio albums covering the genres of country, folk and of course pop, there is something for everyone.

Similar events already take place in other cities, such as “Swifties Night” in Vienna. Depending on the success of tomorrow evening, Julia and Lisa Lindner want to continue organizing “ParTAYs”. Things are looking good so far as the event is sold out. If you want to get a ticket at the box office, you have to get there early. All that remains is the question that Taylor Swift also asks in her hit song of the same name: Is Graz “…Ready for it”?
