The Government of the President, Nayib Bukele, through the DOM not only works on the rescue of the municipal road network but also on social projects of greater impact that are improving the quality of life of Salvadorans, such as a modern market. municipal delivered this Monday, April 1 to the inhabitants of the district of Candelaria de La Frontera, municipality of Santa Ana Oeste.
After a long process of struggle and improvement with her food, candy, cleaning supplies and clothing businesses, Irma Palacios now has the opportunity to tell a different story after 23 years of being a merchant.
Now their work has been dignified by the Government with the construction of a new modern and safe building for about 120 merchants, as well as for the more than 23 thousand inhabitants of Candelaria de La Frontera.

“This is a blessing from God, because we do not have to expose ourselves to the sun or the rain. Now we have this beautiful market. I thank the people who were part of the construction of this place,” said the seller.
The Government, through the DOM, in addition to providing this modern and safe space, also supported merchants with the transfer of their sales positions through the staff of the Social Development unit.
Celia Valenzuela, an elderly woman, could not believe what her eyes could see today; Her sale of fruits, vegetables and legumes were located in a space with lots of light, clean and with everything necessary to continue selling her.
The transfer of the vendors began this Monday in an orderly manner, from the temporary metal and wood stalls that were set up on the main street of the urban center of the aforementioned district, to the new supply center.
In total, 96 sales positions were dismantled and their vendors relocated. This new building, built in an area of 1,200 square meters, has international quality standards on two levels.
According to its design, the first level houses 38 stores for the sale of fruits; 11 for the sale of chicken and seafood, while 6 more will be for florist sales, on the second level, 50 stores were built for the sale of dry products and 15 more for dining rooms, it has a food area, toilets, solid waste, administrative offices, nursing and health services, among others.
Since its founding by Legislative Decree in November 2021, Municipal Works has not only made a difference with the rescue of the municipal road network, among its achievements it includes the execution of social projects that are improving the quality of life of the inhabitants, such as the case of the merchants of Candelaria de La Frontera. The DOM executes similar projects that are advancing in Santa Ana, Sonsonate, Cuscatlán, Chalatenango, La Libertad, among others.
