On Friday night at 1:25 a.m., a 65-year-old Slovenian drove his truck with a trailer on the A10 Tauern motorway from Salzburg towards Slovenia. At the Villach junction he mistakenly entered the A2 southern motorway towards Italy. When he realized his mistake, he simply turned the truck around and drove against the opposite lane on the A2 towards Klagenfurt.
After about 200 meters he was stopped and turned around again by an accompanying vehicle from a special transport that happened to be oncoming with flashing lights. The 65-year-old wrong-way driver is reported to the Villach-Land district administration.
