ASOLO. Is called Pietro Zanesco e at the age of 13 he is already Italian individual champion of sport fishing. A few days ago, in the specialty “Trout fishing with natural bait in the stream”, competition held in the cold waters of the Cuccio stream, in Porlezza (Como), Pietro, athlete of the Asd Pescatori La Rocca d’Asolo, in the two tests of two hours each, beat dozens of competitors, coming from all over Italy, fishing 46 trout, 10 more than the runner-up.
The race consisted of catch the greatest number of trout, using a rod up to seven meters long, natural bait and a landing net for recovery. A discipline that involves the use of barbless hooks and the release of the caught fish.
For the Asd Pescatori La Rocca d’Asolo this is the first historic national title. Pietro inherited the passion for sport fishing from grandfather Silverio, among the foundersbulls of the company, and from father Moreno, current president.
He also participated in the race his brother Matteo that, in the first year of the category, he finished fifth with 27 trout captured. Small champions grow.
